Pasig City, November 12, 2023 — The Women’s Alliance for Security and Peace (WASP) successfully concludes the in-person training of their flagship project, HERSAFE: Her Empowerment, Rights, Security, Advocacy, Freedom, and Equality, held at Richmonde Hotel in Ortigas from November 9 to 12, 2023.
This year's HERSAFE conference focused on the role of women in the field of cybersecurity. The event, made possible by the US Embassy in the Philippines through the Emerging Voices Grant, received support from the Cyber Battalion Army Signal Regiment, the Philippine Army, the Philippine National Police, and the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime reflecting a collaborative effort to promote women's empowerment in the realm of security and technology.
Selected from a pool of 360 applicants, 16 participants hailed from Luzon, 5 from Visayas, and 8 from Mindanao. These women leaders represent diverse sectors, including National Government Agencies, Local Government Units, Academe, Justice Sector, and Private and Start-Up communities.
HERSAFE brought together 30 women leaders actively engaged in technology and security, fostering networks aimed at strengthening the advocacy to keep cyberspace secure for their respective communities and stakeholders. The conference featured a blend of technical and practical sessions, providing valuable insights into the latest developments in cybersecurity

Highlights included discussions on the indispensable role of women in advancing technology and safeguarding digital spaces. The event underscored the significance of diversity and inclusivity in the cybersecurity landscape, emphasizing the need for collaboration and grassroots participation to address emerging challenges.
